Biking trips
Cycling is wonderful! Especially in Hanover: there are lots of biking routes in or around Hanover. In the city, over 360 km of biking tracks grant you safe and comfortable rides to your destination. Another 170 km of biking tracks through the greenest city of Germany allow you to enjoy the nature within this big city.
We offer free parking for your bikes, either on our hotel property, in our parking garage or locked in a cellar room (please reserve a bicycle spot before arrival).
We recommend the follwing biking routes:
Route 1: Maschsee-Route to the "Park der Sinne"
This 18 km biking track leads you from “Ernst August momument” at the central station along the Maschsee to the trade fair (and former EXPO) ground and to the “Park der Sinne” (park of senses).

Route 2: Bult-Route to the "Park der Sinne"
The Bult route starts at the city park Eilenriede. Over 18,8 km you will pass the biggest urban city forest until reaching the trade fair (and former EXPO) ground with relics of the EXPO 2000 and the “Park der Sinne” (park of senses), a project also founded during EXPO.

Route 3: Herrenhäuser-Route
7,9 km lasts this route along the baroque garden, one of Hanover’s finest attractions. The route starts at Hanover central station in the city centre and will bring you to Stöcken with the big VW headquarter.

Route 4: Mittellandkanal-Route
Over round about 25 km, this route follows the major and frequently used waterway of Lower Saxony. Impressive buildings as the iron bridge in Garbsen (only spanning over water during a floot) and the Hindenburg water gate display how engineering tamed the river.

Route 5: Eilenriede-Route
This tour leads from the southern shore of Maschsee through Europes biggest urban forest. Over 10,5 km you can enjoy a green ride until Anderten’s landmark, the Hindenburg watergate.

Route 6 Julius-Trip-Ring
Get to know the green city Hanover! This 25 km route leads around the whole city and connects Maschsee with the riverbanks of Leine and Ihme, Herrenhausen Gardens and brings you back to the Maschsee.
